This generator produces UUID v4, version 4 (random) identifiers, using the browser's Web Crypto API. Version 4 is fully random, which makes it the default choice for most identifiers. Generate a batch above and copy them individually or all at once.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between v4 and v7?
Version 4 is random. Version 7 puts a millisecond timestamp in the high bits, so v7 values are time-sortable while still being unique. Use v7 when you want database keys that cluster by insertion time.
Can I use this from the command line or an AI agent?
Yes. It is a REST endpoint at https://api.clean.tools/v1/uuid_v4 and an MCP server you can add to Claude, Claude Code, or Cursor. The @clean-tools/mcp npm package runs it as a local stdio server.
