How it works
This free image resizer uses your browser's built-in Canvas API to process images entirely on your device. Select an image by dragging it in, pasting from your clipboard, or picking a file. Choose your target size using platform presets for Instagram, TikTok, X, Meta Ads, and Google Display, or enter custom dimensions and percentages. Then export as JPEG, PNG, WebP, or lossless TIFF.
Your images are never sent to a server. The resizing, format conversion, and file export all happen locally, which makes the tool fast and private. No cost, no limits. It works on any modern browser, on both mobile and desktop.
Want proof? Open your browser's developer tools and watch the network tab while you work: your images never upload.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Fill, Fit, and Stretch?
This control shows for every preset while you are in Ratio mode. It only changes the result when the target you pick (like Instagram Story at 1080x1920) has a different shape than your image: Fill scales up and center-crops so the frame is filled with no borders, Fit scales the whole image inside the frame and adds blank margins, and Stretch distorts the image to match the exact box. When the target already matches your image's shape, all three produce the same output. Custom and percentage modes always keep your requested mapping, so this control does not appear there.
Why does my transparent PNG turn white when I export as JPEG?
JPEG has no transparency channel, so any transparent pixels have to be filled with a solid color. This tool paints them white before exporting rather than the black most encoders default to. Export as PNG, WebP, or TIFF to keep transparency intact.
Does the Quality setting change every format?
Quality only affects the lossy formats, JPEG and WebP. PNG is always lossless and TIFF is written uncompressed, so the Good, Better, and Best options have no effect on those two.
Are the original photo's EXIF and location data kept?
No. The image is redrawn through a canvas, which drops all EXIF, GPS, and other metadata from the exported file. Camera rotation is read first and baked into the pixels, so phone photos stay upright instead of appearing sideways once the orientation tag is gone.
